Why I left out Gateway
I don't know if certain vendors plan to incorporate a stand alone unit into the hardware that functions independently of its being an MCE eXtender. If your iTunes library contains Apple Lossless tracks then so far I have not found a way to get WMP (and therefore MCE) to play them. MCE Extender can't change TV Channels
I'm guessing that your son is saving his video in a non-extender-supported format - if he saves his video in MPEG 1, 2 or WMV then he should be fine (once you have WinDVD6 installed on the MCE PC!) 3.
